collectivity. For a Surrealist group to be worthy of the name, it must be more
than the sum of its parts: the group must take on its own life and dynamic,
above and beyond the individuals involved, and it</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">’</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">s this presiding spirit that
speaks through our games and activities, in ways that we ourselves can neither
determine nor predict. In our finest moments this spirit has manifested itself with
immense power: as the tyrannical space-queen Sagal, whose effigy we dragged to
the top of an alp and who still refused to burn; as Lejman the scientist, who
inhabited a barometer with eight children and communicated with us through
Ouija; as dolls, amulets, imaginary friends, an army of dreamers, Holborn
golems, the fearful Baron Satan, and invisible hands on the planchette</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">…</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;"> The intoxication of those moments
is what has kept us going, kept us together, kept us all coming back to SLAG
meetings again and again.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">The
results of our games and experiments have been too numerous and various to catalogue,
but there</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">’</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">s

love. We often delight each other, we no less often annoy each other, we
sometimes even bore each other, but in the process we</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">’</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">ve forged such powerful bonds that
we have never ceased to love each other. Our external belligerence might even
be a measure of our internal tenderness, as we have fought tooth and claw to
protect our strangely glistening secret treasure.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">Love
brooks no substitutes, and neither does Surrealism. Nothing can replace the
regular face-to-face meetings that are a Surrealist group</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">’</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">s lifeblood </span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">–</span><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;"> are, in fact, what constitutes
the group as such. It bears repeating in these days of virtual friendships and
on-screen simulacra: the presiding collective spirit of a Surrealist group demands
tribute in flesh and blood. Electronics can facilitate conversations and
maintain friendships at a distance, but they cannot replicate the spherical
alchemy that takes place when a group of Surrealists is really together,
encountering itself in body and mind.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: 11.0pt;">This kind
of collectivity is the principle on which SLAG was founded. It is also the
principle on which SLAG is now being dissolved. Individual lives have changed,
and there are now more SLAG members living outside of London than in it. A photograph of the object was circulated at a group meeting, where it was identified and named as a divination card.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "cambria"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: "MS 明朝"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="font-family: "cambria"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: "MS 明朝"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-fareast; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">This became an open-ended project to assemble a
deck of such divination cards. There was no attempt to force discovery. When
discovered the object was photographed, and the divination card was then titled
by other members of the group. (That the discoverer could not also name the
divination card was the only strict rule applied). The result is this deck of
18 cards.</span> </span><br />

At a recent meeting we discussed the testing of personality types. This
prompted questions not only about the identification of such types but also about
their cultivation and possible stratification into hierarchies. This
discussion took place within and alongside a consideration of childrens'
games, particularly dollhouses. These can be compared to the use of
empty buildings for sexual assignations in rural areas.<br />

<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<b>The immediate purpose of this game is to provide evidence, drawn from living experiences, of the existence of a 'surrealist poetic time'. There is here a necessary prior consideration: to discover to what extent there is in each of us, and how intensely, an experience of time that overlaps with 'forced time' in all its possible manifestations. Testimony, modest but decisive, of an experience of 'emancipated time'. Naturally, what comes out of the answers will be a mystery that can transform the obviousness of the game into something new. Although this remains to be seen.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>1. A clock face is found from which the hands are removed.</b><br />
<b>2. Each player designates a time associated with an event from his/her life that upholds the principle of the marvellous: revelation, passion, liberation, emancipation, encounter.</b><br />
<b>3. Each player selects a sentence that acts as an emblem of this lived experience and, upon the clock face chosen for the game, writes it against the corresponding time.</b></blockquote>

<i>Our results, anti-clockwise from XII:</i><br />
<br />
Lost in Stockholm by night among the hares and snow.<br />
I may have been born at this time.<br />
My neighbour sleepwalking around the garden at night.<br />
Love at first sight during The Revenger's Tragedy.<br />
1965 Quex Road.<br />
Here comes the fox.<br />
I dreamt a fortune teller, with two left hands, read my Tarot.<br />
A symbol of a robot child is printed.<br />
My eye operation.<br />
A sparrow is un-shrouded, reborn through tissue and punctured plastic and flies away.<br />
I first saw Wizard of Oz.<br />
A fox placed its paw in my hand.<br />
I touched a mushroom which then vanished at my nursery school.<br />
Stockholm summer sunrise, wide awake in a room full of dreams<br />
Men in skeleton suits, running through a graveyard.<br />
I am awake and I am asleep.<br />
I may have been born at this time.<br />
<br />
<br />
<i>Summary of our discussion of the results:</i><br />
<br />
For us there was no getting away from the disjuncture between the clockface itself, which is the very embodiment of forced time – a "static universe", in Patrick's words – and the defiantly clockless time of poetry. Does anyone ever check their watch during an experience of the Marvellous? For the most part the positions we assigned on the clockface to the experiences we recalled were based on rough estimates and guesswork; the clock times were more or less arbitrary and extrinsic to the experiences. Even those temporal aspects that really did apply to some poetic experiences – most notably, whether the experience had occurred at nighttime or daytime – are not indicated on a clockface. We therefore found it very fitting that the clock's numerals were gradually becoming covered over by the poetic experiences as the game continued. The Marvellous obliterates the clock.<br />

Howling voice echoes through empty chambers. A sad song.<br />
<br /><span style="color: maroon;"> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Black

<br /><span style="color: maroon;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Piece of

<br />
<br />
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Merls dissection…</b><br />
<br />
Strictly speaking this is not an organ, but an<span style="color: maroon;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> intestinal parasite</b></span> that lives
in the gap between the two kidneys. It produces a hormone that stimulates
feelings of fear, particularly while the Koala is asleep.<br />
<br />
This obviously<span style="color: maroon;"> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">sexual organ</b></span> has no reproductive function while attached to
the Koala, and is an organ purely of pleasure. However, on the Koalas death, it
detaches itself from the body and burrows into the soil, where it self-
fertilizes in a fungal manner to produce an enormous mushroom that is very
delicious to eat. <br />
<br />
This is the <span style="color: maroon;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">sphincter</b></span>
through which passes the koalas desire. At midnight precisely, it contracts and
spasms to expel a great spurt of longing, sometimes so intense as to cause real
physical pain. It also makes an unpleasant swooshing-gurgling sound. <br />
<br />
<br />
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Kirstys dissection…</b><br />
<br /><span style="color: maroon;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Sightless
Organ</b></span>. Person gazes into the eyeless socket. And imagines what the
Koala sees. This organ is located behind the eyeless socket and travels/ends at
the dead-end of the belly button/ the empty inside of the Koala. The connection
of two sewn up holes. When gazed into it slyly absorbs the unseen sights of
sightlessness. Back and forth, back and forth, un-digesting/un-absorbing,
powered by the imagination of the gazer and the proportion of their desire,
that is sight aimlessly passed from sewn up hole to sewn up hole. Back and
forth back and forth. And so the sightless organ attached to the <span style="color: maroon;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">spinning organ</b></span>
is set into motion and begins to spin faster and faster producing manic heat
which gives this soulless, sightless, Koala the appearance of being a living
thing, the appearance of looking back from the sewn up socket. That misleading
heat produced by the spinning and animated by the cyclic dead-end of
sightlessness. And the gazer who has sent in all this squandered sight and
imagination and desire grows more and more a believer that his/her sight has
been returned! And so more and more sight is invested, devoted to this
sightless Koala and so the spinning organ spins more and more profusely as the
back and forth, back and forth of the sightlessness manifests and carves out
from its innards and through its excitement an <span style="color: maroon;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">inverse heart</b></span>. All red, empty
and bowl-like. </span><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>

almanac</span><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br />
<br />
</span><span lang="EN-US" style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Calibri;">1) Each player is given a sealed envelope containing a photographic
image of the same window, taken from the outside of a building, without any
indication of where it is (or was) situated. The envelope should only be opened
at the commencement of the game, when the conditions are right, and the text
written in one sitting; the photographic image ought not be used as something
to be pondered over retrospectively, off and on, when the mood takes one. The
important thing is to be in the right frame of mind and to ‘provoke’
inspiration actively by means of the image. <br />
<br />
2) Gazing at the image of the window, through an act of imagination, each
player writes a detailed description of the room on the other side, in which
are placed objects (whether inanimate or animate) drawn from her/his childhood
memories, and any scenario, provoked by the memory of said objects, which might
be taking place in that room. This should be an ‘objective’ description, a
tableau rather than a narrative, and should be no more than a paragraph of
approximately 500 words. <br />
<br />
3) When all of the players have completed their written descriptions of the
imagined rooms, these are to be placed in common and compared for any
similarities and differences. Thus, there will be a number of ‘rooms’
corresponding to the numbers of players, each room containing a number of
objects from childhood memory. <br />
<br />
4) Taking each of the rooms described by the other players in turn, each player
carefully reads the description, scanning the contents, and selects one object
(whether inanimate or animate) or detail from the room which most resonates
with a childhood memory. 5) After interrogating the object/detail for the
resonances and ‘analogons’ that it provokes, each player writes a brief one- or
two- sentence explanation as to what this means to her/him. 6) Once completed,
the players get together to compare, room by room, which objects were selected
and what memories were elicited by them.<br style="mso-special-character: line-break;" />

<b>Paul D’s room</b> <br />
Beyond the window and the drawn white curtain…a childs bedroom… a small 10 year
old boy…single bed…desk…built-in wardrobe…The boy is laying in bed, his head
raised on a pillow, and he’s looking at the wardrobe…All across the floor and
emanating from beneath the wardrobe, is a slowly moving, coagulating puddle of
thick yellow custard…sticking up out of the custard are rows and rows, perhaps
4 or 5 hundred, of tiny pins…they stay upright but move along slowly within the
custard as it oozes across the carpet towards the boy…slowly the wardrobe doors
open, they are white, and from the inside a thick reddish brown sausage, about
4foot long, begins the float out…it’s a foot thick, 6 feet above the ground…hanging
there…waiting… </span></span><br />

<b>Elva’s room <br />
</b>in the room it is really quite dark. The only light is from the lamppost
outside. A large square stool stands awkwardly in the middle of the room, near
the door. The ugly old clock on the mantelpiece ticks loudly; just on the other
side of the door the mahogany grandfather clock gongs even louder. A skipping
rope runs taught from one side of the room to the other. Small figures are
crouching earnestly in the shadows, holding pillows and other missiles. There
are enclaves in the wall that are otherworldly; as if they are portals to
another dimension, step in them and you’re gone. A locked cabinet with a name
scratched proudly into it on the far end of the room, but you never go that far
into the room, it’s unthinkable, as if a Djinn lived in it. The room is still,
silent, dark; eager in anticipation, exciting, ominous, dangerous, and
not-quite-there. <br />

<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Calibri;"><span lang="EN-US" style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Calibri;"><b>Patrick’s room<br />
</b>a high ceilinged room with two doors. On the far left side stands a tall
wardrobe and somebody is sanding inside crying. On the opposite wall hangs a
large oval mirror. The mirror is very dark and a message has been written
across the mirrors surface, in an unrecognizable language. By the fireplace, a
woman is sitting in an armchair and she is staring intently towards the direction
of the wardrobe. Two objects rest on her lap, one in each hand. The right hand,
a blade, in the left, a bell. <br />
<br />
<b>Kristy’s room</b> <br />
1) No person is in this room <br />
2) A sparrow in a small box, wrapped in toilet roll, still breathing, in a
drawer. <br />
3) A butter knife <br />
4) Terracotta faces of a god and goddess, on the wall. Their eyes are pupilless
and their heads are filled with soil and overgrown with weeds. <br />
5) A dark, black corner, looking into it and trying to make out rabbits in
cages. But they never appear. <br />
6) A cat on the windowsill, always looking outside, part outside, its head
cannot be seen as it reaches outside into whiteness and light. <br />
7) Chucky the killer doll.<br style="mso-special-character: line-break;" />

<br />
People in the room:<br />
Elva: unnamed children hidden in the dark.<br />
Paul: himself as a child<br />
Patrick: a woman<br />
Kirsty: no-body<br />
<br />
It was noticed that in Pauls, Patricks and Kirsty’s room there was a particular
passivity, that something had happened/ was happening that we could not
control. Pauls: the custard slowly approaching, the child unable to run away. Patrick’s
victim in the wardrobe. Kristy’s dying bird and caged rabbits that cannot be
conjured by sight. Elva's dream however had elements of control in its
anticipation for whatever was coming/happening, confronting the darkness with booby
traps etc.<br />
<br />
Pins in Pauls, a blade in Patricks and a butter knife in Kristy’s room<br />
<br />
(Elva's) writing on a cabinet and (Patrick’s) name on a mirror= intangible
communication.<br />
<br />
<b><u>WHAT RESONATES WITH CHILDHOOD MEMORY</u></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">?</span><br />
<b>Pauls room</b><br />
Kirsty) resonates with being bed bound and being confronted with a point of
emanation.<br />
Elva) The custard. The film toys come alive or whatever it was called, there
was a scene in which there was a big sea of some kind- foodstuff disguised to
capture/kill the two protagonist toys. It was terrifying and horrible but I
watched it over and over again.<br />
Patrick) a hovering fat red tongue, pushing through white doors and wanting to
shout.<br />
<br />
<b>Patricks room</b><br />
Kirsty) waiting for something to reveals itself to sight. Deconcealment. <br />
Paul) across the mirror, words from an unintelligible language. Like a voice
crying out from the other side that can never be heard.<br />
Elva) I had a floor to ceiling built in wardrobe in my bedroom. I cant recall
if this is how I felt about them at the time but when I remember them I feel
like I was never quite sure what was in them even though I must have looked in
them regularly.<br />
<br />
<b>Elva’s room</b><br />
Kirsty) the repetition of clocks creating a menacing consistency. <br />
Paul) A locked cabinet with a name scratched on it- but you never go that far.<br />
Patrick) the enclaves are for time travellers. Trapped forever in a parallel
universe and only able to fleetingly visit our world like ghosts.<br />
<br />
<b>Kristy’s room</b><br />
Paul) A God and a Goddess, their heads filled with dirt…as in a universe of
ambivalent, pointless indifference, yet with the potential for individual
growth and sustenance.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #1a1a1a;">Elva) God/ess plant pots:
This really reminds me of a story I wrote when I was an adult (24 years), it
resonates so much I chose it anyway. It is called ‘Humhiminas Tuft’ and is
about a girl called Humhina who grows a living boy/plant out of the ground who
has hair, called Hessakints.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #1a1a1a;">
Patrick) a dead sparrow in white tissue reminds me of chocolate birds wrapped
in coloured foil for Christmas treats.</span><br />

The word love has many meanings, from the most trivial to the most mystical; we take it here to refer to the emotion that affects two sexed individuals and conjures their desire.<br /><br />1- Rimbaud alludes to a Prince who foresaw ‘astonishing revolutions of love’ (Illuminations, ‘Tale’).<br />Does it seem to you that these revolutions have taken place?<br /><br />2- Do you think that love, as a concept or a practice, has a subversive power?<br /><br />3- Do you believe that we can only love one person in the course of a lifetime, and if so, is that person in some way ‘predestined’ for us?<br />How do you see your understanding of love changing over time?</b><br />

<br />
<br />
Once again I find myself confused about the intended audience for this enquiry. Are we, again, attempting to reassure ourselves by repeating a litany of ‘correct’ answers? Yet what could be more hostile to the spirit of love and its unbridling than that?<br />
<br />
In this case, it seems that the enquiry has deliberately placed things back-to-front. This is love in the dark, two people waiting on opposite sides of different glory holes. The limitations of the enquiry become more apparent if we address its concerns in reverse order.<br />
<br />
The formulation about loving only one person in the course of a lifetime is a straw man, or, if you prefer, a straw inflatable doll. Perhaps it is meant to contain a genuine question about the intensity of love and the realities of overwhelming passion, but … it has conflated this with something quite inimical to that intensity and those passions. Love is a nakedness, a feeling of having been turned inside out and of wearing viscera for skin, but this question has provided it with a respectable bourgeois suit and a wedding invitation. It would, as the English idiom has it, ‘make an honest woman’ of this most ungentlewomanly of sensations. And who would want that? Who would want to turn love into the most stultifyingly stifling of respectable prisons designed for it by those most terrified of its effects?<br />
<br />
Love is a shattering, crushing of the physical being, an invasion of every sensation that wreaks a destructive and wonderful change on the fabric it possesses, with a corresponding mental upheaval. This question accidentally reduces this physical, material devastation to a platonic ideal.<br />
<br />
The answer is ‘no’ on more than one front.<br />
<br />
You love. Does that mean your love is confined, restricted? Of course your love in that particular instance remains true forever. If you genuinely love, at any time, then that love remains a fact, even where it is over and has turned to hate. You still love. If that love doesn’t remain true then it wasn’t love. So you may still love an experience that is finished at the same time as you love the person who now shares your life, even as you retain the potential to love again.<br />
<br />
Love is not, and will not be, confined or constrained or curtailed. You can be with your life partner, sharing a love that defies and is beyond anything you have ever experienced before – does this mean that it has exhausted your capacity to love? Does it mean that you cannot continue to love, cannot love anew? Does it mean that your love for and with that one person is only the completed love of an earlier moment? That you’re just waiting for the real thing so you can put it away as a finished experience? <br />
<br />
If you love one person, now, who is your whole love and life (even taking into account the realities of earlier loves), love does not become some passively experienced state. It is not, cannot ever be, enough just to say ‘I love x’: love must be a continuous process of self-destruction, exchange and invention.<br />
<br />
Perhaps the question is designed to elicit this kind of critical reaction, but it seems an odd way of pursuing the investigation. It requires the respondent to start from anywhere but the beginning. Rather than starting with any discussion of what love actually is or might be, it begins from a tiresome Victorian version of romantic love. Polyamorists, for example, would have to begin not from any account of love itself but by dismantling the monogamous model already placed as an obstacle in their way.<br />
<br />
Where is the wildness of love in all this? The problem is that the question presents love as either an empirical event or as an ideal, while love breathes continually as an ever-changing process.<br />
<br />
It seems that the question of predestination ‘in some way’ is intended to cover this aspect of love, the place of chance in the formation of love. Unfortunately, its presentation here just gives the impression of being thicker icing on the poisoned wedding cake.<br />
<br />
Reciprocated love (and unreciprocated love may also be just as real an experience of the state, although it seems largely excluded from this presentation) is based on certain real physical conditions. I am not talking here simply about sexual relations, although these are also involved in what I am describing: rather, I mean that reciprocated love involves a relationship that takes place within specific physical environments, whatever variations are accommodated within that.<br />
<br />
This is, I think, the distinction between chance and destiny. Chance proceeds from the more-or-less accidental interplay of elements within that environment. In the presentation of some sort of romanticised ideal version of love, talk of ‘predestination’ runs the risk (however unintentionally) of removing it from that environment and the processes involved. <br />
<br />
Love is not some abstracted ideal state that can be closed off, it is a permanent transformation of the here and now that must be continuously fought and explored. It is a maelstrom into which we walk with some deliberateness, even though its effects and impact must then always be new and surprising.<br />
<br />
This also answers the enquiry’s question about how my understanding of love has changed over time. The effort to seize and understand the meanings of these emotional, reactive and unconscious states has moved me away, I hope, from any such mysticised and dull views of love.<br />
<br />
This openness to the possibility, this investigation of the experience and sensation, in turn addresses question 2. Love is an expression of the constant subversion of the self and its surrounds, but that requires a commitment to exploring its impact, a devotion to its continued subversion. Walk into it, walk in, it will efface you and negate you and remake you and destroy you, walk in with open eyes, and you will make it efface you and negate you and remake you and destroy you.<br />
<br />
And this, it seems, is the problem with the first question, with its unduly harsh invocation of Rimbaud as an alibi for something he is apparently disputing. The question, which poses love in a static, empirical manner, denies the possibility of love as a consuming process of a continued dialectical present tense.<br />
<br />
Answering ‘yes’ to this question would be a concession to complacency, as such an answer would imply exactly the kind of completion that love precludes. Answering ‘yes’ would indicate a denial of the possibility of love, and a resistance to love.<br />
<br />
The question treats love as a potentially resolvable and completable state. Love must always be now because it will always change now.<b> </b><br />

My true love rides a live carpet of eels, smacks his strawberry on the horizon, eats centaurs, pisses suns, and drowns the city in clouds of racing.<br />

Fathoms below starfight we lie, flensing the skin from night’s barricades. <br />

Run along with your silly little questions. We can’t hear them above the noise of coral igniting.<br />

<b>Swirling spiders stronger still; the edge of reality too to rise</b><br />
<br />
It is! It is.<br />
<br />
<i>Love.</i><br />
<br />
Swirling spiders in empty chambers, empty of the whispering sycophants, who were here in their unctuous ooze-pus.<br />
<br />
<i>Love.</i><br />
<br />
It is stronger still than the sweetest swell, a spider’s thread weaving the covering for its chamber bed. It is asleep, don’t breathe. It sleeps, don’t wake it. It dreams.<br />
<br />
<i>Love.</i><br />
<br />
It is on the edge of reality, recoiling to rise again.<br />
<br />
<i>Love.</i><br />
<br />
It is too furious for you.<br />
<br />
Don’t ask me who I can love. What ‘can’? Who’s going to allow me, who stop me? I might even love you, and then you’ll be sorry. Love your silver nightmare and your broken amulet. <br />
<br />
Burn a hole in my skin to the bone.<br />
<br />
<i>Love.</i><br />
<br />
Absurdity. Love laughs at you. Love the vicious cunt, the roaring monstrous head, the death whilst orgasming, the frothy spit on a face running down, the cum between my legs running down.<br />
<br />
<i>Love.</i><br />
<br />
An infinitesimally small super massive black hole right in front of your eye. You fall into it, now. Go on, fall.<br />
<br />
<i>Love. </i><br />
<br />
Love can fuck itself, and does, endlessly, choking and laughing and crying and fucking itself, running amok with its mother’s shoes, giggling, causing havoc in red shoes.<br />
<br />
<i>Love!</i><br />
<br />
Don’t put it on the fucking table. I just made that table. I don’t want your love coming in here and fucking it up. I have to eat off that table.<br />

<br />
The final page of our friend <a href="http://surrint.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Miguel Pérez Corrales</a>'s essay "Fifty Years Of Surrealism", which introduces the wonderfully detailed chronology of the movement included at the end of the book, refers to "le groupe SLAG et sa revue <i>Patricide</i>" (the SLAG group and its periodical <i>Patricide</i>). The error might be no more than a typo: "<b>sa</b> revue" (<b>its</b> periodical) should read "<b>la</b> revue" (<b>the</b> periodical).<br />
<br />
To clear up any confusion: we are not involved in any way in the production of <i>Patricide</i>, a publication which we regard with <a href="http://www.icecrawler.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/outside-of-art-or-outside-of-surrealism.html" target="_blank">ambivalence at best</a> (and downright hostility at worst).Pearl Handelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08906994734745965505noreply@blogger.com0
