which wing is Belgium?
Which ties in with another image that'd been in my head all week, of a bird flying over water with each wing-tip brushing different countries.
If its wings brush the countries I wonder what its shadow does. I always expect to find things in feathers--an image on the cover of one of the Arsenal issues catches that perfectly for me.
Blending of things--I'd just read a biography of Baudelaire, and was associating Belgium somewhat with dirty coffee and paralysis, now superimposed with feathers.

Even for the rampant Belgophiles amongst us, it almost made up for seeing de Rode Duivels going down 2-0.
